Creating a New Bit
Your bits are the building blocks of your stand-up material. The Bits app lets you create, search, sort, and manage them from the Material tab. Here’s how.
- Open the Material tab (pencil icon).
- Tap the red plus button to create a new bit.
- Give it a title and start writing your content. Bits auto-save as you type.
You can also create a bit from inside a set or label: when you’re viewing a set or label, use the plus button to add a new bit that’s already linked to that set or label.
Viewing and Opening Bits
- Your bits appear in a list. Tap any bit to open and edit it.
- Use the search field at the top to find bits by title, content, or notes.
- To narrow the list, switch to Labels or Sets using the icons at the top and tap a label or set to see only those bits.
Sorting Your Bits
When you have several bits, use the sort menu (lines icon) to order them by:
- Modified – Recently changed bits first (default).
- Created – When you first added the bit.
- Title – Alphabetically.
- Status – Draft, done, gold, ready for stage, etc.
- Stage status – How far along the bit is for performance.
- Length – Shortest or longest first.
Pick the order that helps you work best (e.g. “Modified” for recent edits, “Length” for set planning).
Deleting a Bit
- Swipe left on a bit in the list and tap the red delete option, or
- Open the bit, tap the gear (properties) icon, scroll down, and tap Delete.
Deletion is permanent. For more ways to organize without deleting, use labels and sets, or the status and stage status in bit properties.
Next Steps
- Use bit properties (gear on a bit) to set length, status, stage status, labels, and sets.
- Use notes (icon on a bit) for private notes that don’t appear in your performance text.
