Opening Notes
Every bit in Bits can have notes that are separate from the main content. Notes are for you only—they don’t appear as part of your performance text when you use On Stage mode.
- Open a bit.
- Tap the notes icon (e.g. note or list icon) in the toolbar.
- The notes sheet opens. Type or edit your notes; they save automatically.
When to Use Notes
- Reminders – “Try pausing before the punchline” or “Check crowd reaction on this line.”
- Alternate lines – Jot down other ways to say the joke without cluttering the main text.
- Context – Where the idea came from, which show you first tried it, etc.
- To-dos – “Cut the middle” or “Add a tag.”
Because notes are private, you can be as messy or detailed as you like. They’re searchable from the main Material list (search looks at both content and notes), so you can find bits by something you wrote in notes.
Notes vs. Main Content
- Main content – What you say on stage (or what you want to see in full/cue-card mode). Keep this clean and performance-ready.
- Notes – Your backstage notes. They never show as part of the bit during On Stage.
Use notes to keep your stage text tight while still capturing every idea and reminder.
