When to Restore
If you’re subscribed to Bits Pro but the app shows backup as “Off” or Pro features as locked, restore your purchase so the app can recognize your subscription again. This often happens after reinstalling the app, switching to a new phone, or signing out and back in.
- You know you’re subscribed (e.g. you see a charge from Apple or your provider), but Bits shows you as not subscribed.
- You reinstalled Bits and signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account; your subscription should still be active, but the app needs to refresh it.
- You switched devices and signed in with the same account; restore so the new device gets your Pro status.
How to Restore
- Open the More tab.
- Find Restore purchase (or “Restore” in the subscription/backup area). It may be under the backup row, in account settings, or in the same screen where you subscribe.
- Tap Restore purchase. The app will check with Apple (or your subscription provider) and, if your subscription is active, restore your Pro access. Backup should show “On” and Pro features (version history, bit feedback, set feedback, transcription) should unlock.
If you subscribed through Apple: make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID on your device that you used when you subscribed. Restore uses that Apple ID to find your subscription.
If Restore Doesn’t Work
- Confirm you’re signed in with the same account you used when you subscribed.
- Check your subscription status in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions (or the equivalent for your provider). If the subscription lapsed or was cancelled, you’ll need to resubscribe in the app.
- If it’s active but Bits still doesn’t show Pro, try force-quitting the app and opening it again after restoring. If the problem continues, contact support (e.g. via More > Give feedback or the contact link in the app).
