Premium app for pro stand-up comedians:

What is "On Stage" Mode?

The "On Stage" mode in the Bits app is a powerful tool designed to help stand-up comedians take their performances to the next level. It allows you to track your sets, monitor outcomes, and gather valuable insights to refine your comedy. Here's a detailed guide on how to get started with "On Stage" mode and make the most of its features.

The "On Stage" mode is tailored for live performances, enabling you to focus on your set and the crowd while your phone becomes your performance companion. It keeps your screen on during the show and provides tools to track the success of your bits, manage time, and even experiment with crowd response tracking. Simply place your phone on a stool or nearby surface, and let the app do the rest.

Getting Started with "On Stage" Mode

Before diving into "On Stage" mode, there are a few steps to prepare:

1. Create a Set

Start by creating a set in the app. Add the bits (jokes or routines) you plan to perform.

2. Create a Show

Go to the "Shows" screen and create a new show entry. This is where you’ll assign your set for the performance.

3. Enter On Stage Mode

After adding a show, tap on the microphone icon to activate the "On Stage" mode.

Features of "On Stage" Mode

Once you activate "On Stage" mode, you’ll be presented with several options to customize your performance experience:

1. Practice Toggle

Use this if you’re rehearsing rather than performing live.

When enabled, the app won't track live performance metrics like laughs or transcription.

2. Mode Options

Choose how you want to display your set during the performance. There are three options:

3. Timer

Add a timer to your set to track the length of your performance.

Customize the timer to update every second or less frequently, depending on your needs.

You can also disable it entirely if you prefer.

4. Laughs Counter (Experimental)

Tracks audience laughs during your performance.

Converts the data into "Laughs Per Minute" (LPM), allowing you to compare performances regardless of show length.

Requires microphone access. (The mic is disabled immediately after you exit "On Stage" mode.)

5. Transcription (Experimental)

Converts your spoken words into text, creating a transcript of your set for later analysis.

Requires microphone access but does not store any audio recordings. The mic is disabled immediately after leaving "On Stage" mode.

Post-Performance Insights: "Set History"

After your performance (if not in practice mode), the app saves your set's results in the "Set History" section of the "Shows" screen. Here’s what you can do:
